HEAT TRANSFER

Rammed Earth walls separate the living and bedrooms zones. This is designed so the heat can be transferred from the northern living zone to the southern bedroom zones.

incorrect times

ps. the time that it says i am posting my blogs are very incorrect!

BREAKFAST TIME!

On the eastern side of the house the bifold doors open, allowing a flowing space between the kitchen and decking. Perfect for eating brekky and reading the newspaper in the morning sun!

The angled roof lines allow for easy catchment of water. It also means that the solar panels don't look out of place.

CENTRAL CORE

The bathroom acted as a central core. With the water being confined to this core. The theory being that this requires less effort to move the water and services around the house.

DOMUS

The raised level of the house was designed for ventilation. It also works with the contours of the site much better.
The Rammed earth walls frame the entrance. The raised level is cladded with silvertop ash, a great material for protection from bushfire (along with the rammed earth).
